Doug McKee joined VocMedEcon in January 2018. He graduated from Phoenix College School of Nursing in December 2015 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Arizona University in December 2015. Doug worked for three years as a CNA at Phoenix Children’s Hospital with post-trauma pediatric patients including traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and major orthopedic injuries. He also worked closely in the epilepsy monitoring unit and with various other neurological patients. As an RN, Doug began his clinical career at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona on a cardiac unit. This afforded Doug the opportunity to work with patients with congestive heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Doug became interested in the future care needs of these patients while working closely with physician staff, therapists, and care management teams. He contributes to the VocMedEcon team as a Certified Nurse Life Care Planner and Legal Nurse Consultant. He is a member of the American Nurses Association and Arizona Nurses Association.
Doug’s first career was as a PGA member and Golf Professional in Scottsdale, Arizona. He previously earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Doug has been married to his wife Nicole since 2012 and they have two hound dogs. He is a native Texan and loves to root for the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoys reading, golfing, attending church, trail running, and traveling with his wife.
