Ms. Clapp has worked in the vocational rehabilitation industry since 1990. She is Founder and President of VocMedEcon. She holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from Ottawa University in Phoenix, Arizona, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications with a minor in Economics from Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, Arizona. She is responsible for the management of professional and administrative operations. She functions as a vocational, labor market, life care planning and economic damages consultant and expert witness with her corporation. She specializes in counseling, assessment, evaluation, and job placement services of individuals who have diminished capacity to compete in the labor market as a result of accident, illness or environmental conditions. She also evaluates projected medical care costs and develops life care plans for catastrophic injuries.
She serves as a consultant to industry in the exploration, implementation and evaluation of all phases of work force re-entry and/or job site modifications and maintains an on-going caseload of clients. She is directly responsible for the daily operations, supervision and training of staff who also provide the above-cited services to employers, insurance carriers, attorneys, physicians, governmental agencies, and private individuals. She also participates in the evaluation of economic consequences of disability related to a variety of situations.
Ms. Clapp is a current member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (Forensic and Case Management special interest sections), past Chair of the Forensic Section Board of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and current member and past President of the American Rehabilitation Economics Association. She was sponsored for and granted induction to the Collegium of Pecuniary Damages Experts, December 2009. Lisa is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC No. C-035850); Certified Earnings Analyst (CEA No. C-0040); and Certified Life Care Planner (ICHCC 2014).
Ms. Clapp is the author of numerous industry-related presentations. She regularly appears as an in-service educator, introducing a wide variety of vocational, counseling and expert witness-related topics. A qualified vocational, life care planning and economic damage expert, Lisa has presented the evidence of her expertise before Superior and Federal Courts as well as the Industrial Commissions of Arizona and California since 1991.
Lisa is married and her husband Steve is a tax accountant and manager of the administrative operations in VocMedEcon. Outside of the business, Lisa is an avid equestrian and enjoys horseback riding. She and Steve are actively involved with their adult sons, Brandon and Bryan. They enjoy outdoor activities in the desert hills and mountains of north Phoenix and Carefree, Arizona.
